Nathalie Torres is a bilingual associate clinical social worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health at Harbor UCLA’s Adult Outpatient Psychiatry clinic. She received her B.A. in Human Development and Psychology in 2017 from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB). She then received her M.S.W. in 2019 from the University of Southern California (USC). Prior to interning at Harbor UCLA and attending USC, Nathalie was a research assistant at CSULB’s forensic neuroscience lab where she administered neuropsychology assessments to individuals with antisocial personality disorder, psychopathy, schizophrenia, and other serious mental illnesses. There, she also took part in completing a timeline project on Jeffrey Dahmer and Richard Ramirez. In addition, she was a research assistant and recruitment coordinator for the Culture and Social Identity Development lab that focused on how culture affects children’s behaviors and perceptions. Ms. Torres also had the opportunity to volunteer at Metropolitan State Hospital where she gained knowledge about severe and persistent mental illnesses. Nathalie has been extensively trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).
